57 year old male; APOE4/E4; Life of perfect blood pressure until 7 or 8 years ago. Started with Amlodipine Besylate 10MG x 1. Controlled BP for a few years but ELIMINATED my lifelong migraine headaches. I wish I had started it when I was 12.
BP started gradually rising, added hydrochlorothiazide (diuretic) 25MG x 1.
A few months later my cardiologist added metroprolol tartrate 25MG x 1 twice a day for HBP and heart palps.
Everything seems to be under control for a couple of years now.
Hope this helps.

I take Bystolic - it is expensive because they don't have generic. I don't have any side effects except sleepiness when I first started it. I'm borderline but my diastolic BP has been between 80-90.

I am sorry that med is not working for you. It's a very difficult situation. I, too, have tried many BP meds that really made me ill. So my integrative doctor put me on prescription potassium, L Arginine, Beet Juice, and a magnesium protocol by Dr. Carolyn Dean, which is an ionic blend with electrolytes. I also take Life Extension Arterial Support.
After taking spironalactone, which is basically a direutic I ended up in the hospital with dehydration. They found that I have a chronic dehydration condition which contributes to HBP. I take my readings several times a week, and it is borderline until I have a doctor's appt. So I show the nurse my readings and they write them down. Thank you @ON7953 for your suggestion of carditone
, I will check it out. Always looking for something!

I use Carditone, it is a natural supplement and it works great. I have borderline high blood pressure and this supplement really levels it out. I have taken it for about a year now.
